Funneliformis mosseae Inoculation Enhances Cucurbita pepo L. Plant Growth and Fruit Yield by Reshaping Rhizosphere Microbial Community Structure

Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) are essential components of the soil microbiome that can facilitate plant growth and enhance abiotic biotic stress resistance. However, mechanisms via which AMF inoculation influences Cucurbita pepo L. fruit yield remain unclear. Here, we conducted pot experiments to investigate bacterial fungal community structure in rhizosphere C. plants inoculated with Funneliformis mosseae (Nicoll. & Gerd.) Gerd. Trappe based on 16S ribosomal RNA internal transcribed spacer gene sequencing. The ?-diversity bacteria increased significantly following F. inoculation, whereas exhibited an opposite trend (p < 0.01). relative abundances major phyla, Actinobacteria, Acidobacteria, Chloroflexi, together phylum Ascomycota, were all higher samples than uninoculated controls. led remarkable enrichment potentially beneficial taxa (e.g., Streptomyces, Sphingomonas, Lysobacter, Trichoderma), stark contrast depletion pathogens Botryotrichum, Acremonium, Fusarium, Plectosphaerella). Pathways related amino acid metabolism antibiotic biosynthesis upregulated by pathways involved infectious diseases downregulated. results suggest reshapes microbiome, thereby augmenting yield.
